hood and trunk loops

Hey guys

I'm kicking the idea around to install/fab up some hood/trunk hoops like the origional cars had.

Has anyone gone this route before? Any suggestions?

I was thinking of using the Breeze hinges and fishmouthing the ends to connect to the hoop. I would have to get a MKII hood with the flat underside without the pads moulded in like they are on the MK3.1. Does the MKII fit the MK3.1 body?

Any thoughts?

Is there a vendor out there that can bend these up to fit the FFR?

That's how I do the FiA, Comp Car ,and SlabSide bodys I make for the F5 car. The trunk lid on my bodys is more correct, and the hood opening is slightly different than the 427 F5 body. I can custom fit to your car , but need your car here to do it.

Hey Dan, I make the frames and hinges. I leave the hinges with some extra tube so they can be cut to fit the panel frame to hinge point.

Nick

I already have the trunk hinges from breeze, but nothing ordered yet on the hood. I was thinking of attempting this my self, but if you have a "kit" that can bolt in I might be interested if the price is right.

To do this I am sure I will need to get an older hood, one without the hinge pads moulded in. This might be the hard part....

Send me some info!

Thanks

Dan
