Underhood aluminum appearance
Were the underhood aluminum panels blacked out in the original 427 cars, or left in natural aluminum? In many of the old pictures it's either hard to tell or the cars are kind of dirty (been used) making it hard to tell.
Thanks
Dan

Most of the ones I"ve seen are raw/natural.

On all original cars, the underside of the hood and trunk were painted body color.
(whoops- re-read question)...close-out panels under the hood were left bare alum.

Wot he said, aluminum in engine bay, inside fenders in black goop (underseal) so you couldn't see what they were made of.
