Holley 3255 questions
 
Did they remove the choke on the Holley 3255 on the original 1x4 cars to get it to fit inside a turkey pan or will it fit with the choke still attached? Also, did they mill off the air horn? Was there a standard set-up from the factory?

I don't think 3020 had a choke? Looked at older pictures I had and didn't see it installed either.

Chasing Classic Cars just aired the 3034 video, the did some carb work. This would be good reference if you could get your hands on it. You tube maybe?

I'll try to find that. I can't find any good top down views of a 3255 in a turkey pan. I'd like to know so I can have it modified at the time it's rebuilt so it would be as it would have come on an original.

When you remove it to throw it across the room that will automatically remove the choke and horn for you. :eek:

Doug, FWIW on my 4160 I don't completely remove my choke, just a chunk of it. You can see here that it's zip tied in the full open position, but most of the linkage is gone. Supposedly, Holley says you shouldn't remove the butterfly valve, that leaving it there improves performance -- I don't know whether that's true or not. It could be just BS.:cool:

I don't run a turkey pan. I did however remove the choke assembly.
