Nice looking! That's the way I would go and make a latch of some kind. Maybe even a magnet.

I've heard of a couple of these that delight in dropping the door open, that's not from bumps ;-) The new Shelby ones look like the 289 locking buttons.

This is how I latched my door pictured above. Doesn't lock, but holds it very securely.

I still have two locks, just the locks with 2 keys each! No knob! If anybody is interested.
