I can appreciate the attention to detail & it's a beautiful car, but why was it restored? Was it crashed?

I don't think it was crashed. Just deserved a freshening.

Autox in Pittsburgh

I ran there sometime in the late 60's I remember that parking lot with the elevation changes. I can remember being in 4th gear going down that long down hill straight. One of the fastest autox's I ever ran, there was a crowd of people on the outside of a rope line that I was running down into for the corner, very dangerous. I remember that there was a formula car that was pretty fast and I think but am not sure that there was a 289 running that day too. The people that owned the 289 (that was or maybe wasn't at the autox) tried to buy my car at the awards banquet that night because it won FTD that day. Fortunately I told them it was not for sale.
