This is a bit of a moot point, and aside from the asking price, what would give me pause about this Cobra is it sounds like licensing for the street is not an option ...

From the AD ...

NOT STREET LEGAL - SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY

NO TITLE - MSO

No offense intended, but unless one wanted strictly a race car, this seems like it would seriously curtail different driving opportunities other than racing.

Last time I was at Kassabian's in the bay area they had 3 4000 series cars, all about $100k.

"1965 SHELBY COBRA CHALLENGE RACER

THIS IS A REAL SHELBY COBRA - NOT A KIT

1 OF ONLY 6 - RACING COBRAS (CSX 4179)

SIGNED BY CARROL SHELBY"

I just had to laugh when the item description read as above, as Ron said it is a modern day replicamaybe the item descrition should have read "THIS IS A REAL SHELBY COBRA REPLICA"

The original cars were build by AC,then shipped to the States......end of story

That motor looks like the one shown in post #17 of the 'show your engine bay" thread.

HJello All,

I remember seeing a few of these cars on the shop floor at Finishline in Vegas, Roy Hunt was still running it then. It seems to stick in my ememory that Mario Andretti drove one for a few of the events.

Cool race Cobra....way too much money.

Here's a pic from Aug 1, 2002 at Sears Point. Two CSX 4000 Spec Racers and One Yellow SPF (driven by Scott T., for those local to Bay Area - you know who this is). Pic is from the exit of the signature Turn Six (aka: The Carousel).

Hey Randy,

Great pics and good times at Sears Point. We were on the track that day with all of the troops around the Top of the Hill trailer complex.
