Trico washer reservoir for street cars
Another thread reminded me that I need to ask if anyone has stumbled upon a reasonably priced Trico windshield washer fluid reservoir eplica or NOS source as used in the original street cars? I looked around a couple years ago but only came up with pretty expensive choices.

I've been looking on and off for a couple years but haven't found one. I'm afraid if I do find one, it'll be so expensive I won't buy it. I'll keep looking.

Hi all. Many (6 or 8) years ago I stumbled on a beautiful NOS Trico washer and pushbutton pump for $25.00 exactly as used on the original Cobra's. It was on e-bay from a UK source. When I bought it I asked the seller to keep his eyes open at UK swap meets and about 6 months later he found another NOS for $50.00. So now I have two.
And very recently when Bruce Canapa restored his Cobra he commissioned a decal shop to exactly replicate the decals on the Trico bottle and I was able to buy 2 spare decals from his shop. I have very very rarely seen the bottles on e-bay again, but I don't have a comprehensive listing of the vehicles that used that size bottle. I know they were used on some Hillman and Lotus cars of the era but you generally have to search by vehicle name rather than simply by Trico. There are many bottles that come up on e-bay that are close (generally too tall and wrong decal), but sometimes you get lucky and find a seperate bottom on one auction and a seperate top on another. You can try sourcing some of the British old car sites in the UK and ask them to keep their eyes open for one. Good luck Cheers Greg |
Please post a picture.

I'll post a few pics and dimensions of the bottle, decal, pump and "green" washer line.

ERF ATKINSON FODEN SEDDON TRICO 24V WASHER BOTTLE TOP (TOP ONLY) | eBay
- i think original's didnt have the elect motor eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace I bought a slightly taller NOS one than the correct item, similar to the above, and was toying with cutting the bottom of and re-gluing the base to the correct height. Incorrect on the S/C, but as i have to have a washer bottle for UK regs, then decided id go trico. Ofcourse, if you are going tis route, you will need the original trico plunger button on your dash. |
No wonder I can't find one...Greg has two! Geez!:D
