First copy being assembled now. Using greasy fingerprint proof paper and making it as original layout and appearing as possible.

Add me to the list

Nick
Put me down for a copy.
I have a scanned copy, but I'd like one to read in the bathroom, er, let's just say I'd like a hard copy, too.;)
Doug

PS - Patrickt - I can still post here - nanner, nanner, nanner

Nick, good going!
I have a copy from CR, signed by Pete Brock in Atlanta (1996?).
Anybody jealous? :-)

I'll keep you guys posted here when I have the proof done. It really is a great little book with all kinds of inane little details like dash bulb wattage and things like that.

Hi Mickmate. Put me down for a copy too.

I have a reprint from the 90's that I got from one of the Cobra parts suppliers, but it is one of the "misprinted" copies that says "Shelby America" on the first page instead of the correct "Shelby American".

Cheers
Greg

Mick,

Please let us know when you've got it ready and what the price will be. I think there are a lot of us out here who would like to have their own personal copy.

Thanks,
Hal

Nick,

I'm interested too. Patrick said I'd never get a manual and now I have to have one.....

I assume this is specific to the CSX 4000/6000 cars (EDIT: Or is it a repro of an original CSX manual)?

I know of a guy in SoCal that has an original 427 Cobra manual and it is the real deal, no re-pop. Only problem is that he wants $1000 for it. Lynn Park says it is only worth $500!

mickmate 08-13-2012 07:30 PM

I've scanned high res as many of the photo pages I could. The original I was using the owner has about 5 of them. There are some crazy collections of stuff out there.

Racer_X 08-13-2012 10:14 PM

Nick,
I'm interested in a copy also.
Thanks, Curtis

I just sent you a PM. Let me know how much you want and how I pay you. Also, I need to rebuild my clutch slave cylinder (it has leaked all over my garage floor) so if you have a rebuild kit for that, I'll buy that from you while I'm at it. Come to think of it, there are a few things that I may want to get from you! Let's talk.

Thanks Nick.

original manuals

I can assure you all that the manual that Nick has used for his scans was hand delivered by my son and me directly to Nick's residence in New Hampshire, a 1600 mile trip, for fear of a lost in the mail etc, is absolutely, positively, original. I stayed with Nick and his lovely family for two days while he made super slow, high resolution scans of each page. That particular manual was on the floor of my car when I purchased it fourty years ago. There were no repo's in 1972. The original dealer tag, license plate frame, and paper tag, sales invoice and window sticker were in the same bag. I have thru the years purchased numerous manual repos by various venders to document the changes, the subtle differences. I have also exposed several ebay sellers who have claimed original issues, who were not happy with my documentation. I have joked with others to see outrageous prices paid for obvious deviously described reproduction manuals. And yes Patrick, there are original manuals still in the collection of parts horders like myself. Good afternoon to all.

Good news on the 427 chassis manuals. I looked through the proof copy last night. It looks great. First batch is off to print, binding screws on order. I'll keep you guys posted here.
Cheers Nick

No, Patrick said they are ALL fakes! And of course he is the arbiter of all things Cobra, so it must be so....................
