capillary -> firewall routing

Its that time now where I finally need to drill the firewall for the capillary tube grommets - I have Smiths mechanical gauges.

The crendon has a removable centre section on the firewall, so I may drill the holes to the side above the footwells so this panel remains removeable, if needed in the future.

But before I drill, I though i'd check where other people had routed these, where the holes had been placed, and any top tips.

any suggestions and comment much appreciated.

Rather than drilling such a large hole through the firewall to accomodate the capillary tube, I ran it along the right frame and up the side of the footbox at the front of the tranny tunnel. I then drilled the top of the tranny tunnel into the passenger compartment behind the dash. I ran several wires through this same opening and fabbed an alum channel to conceal them running up the side of the footbox/tranney tunnel. Looks very clean.
Can post a pic later if you're interested.
Matt

I have one on each side. Just high enough to run under the dash.
