Original trunk lid prop
What did the original 427 Street Roadsters use as a trunk lid prop?
Period pics aren't all that clear. The Bruce Canepa restoration of CSX 3360 shows a partial pic which seems to be a rod with a pivot/hinge in the middle which would fold? Some pics show the sliding type which is sold by most vendors. Some early pics seem to show a simple straight rod. Whatever the prop rod, was it painted black? Cheers Greg |
The sliding, latching device.

Thanks computerworks. Painted black or the gold colored plating?

Trunk prop
Plated but more of a silver color, at least on mine

CSX 3183, same as 3170
|
Siver CAD plated but the correct length and automatic type, as in you don't have to release the catch with your thumb you just lift it a second time to release.

Thanks Nick. Is that the type you have on your website?
Cheers Greg |
Yup..
