New Aluminium Cobras on the market

Hi,

After building something like 160 DAX Cobra replicas, Dave Brookes at DB Replicas has just completed his first DB427 original spec Cobra. This is the product of many years of hard and exhaustive work, and is an outstanding effort in my view:

Well done and congratulations Dave.

That's what I thought too Bill. Nothing untoward with this one though. I've enjoyed watching it come together on the FB page. Looks spectacular!

I think these are one of the cheapest Aluminium Cobras on the market? £79,900 for a complete car.

The bodies are done in Poland.

But the steering wheel is on the wrong side... ?? ??

Great looking cars

Kevin,

The best thing would be to call Dave direct. I think he's now working on car #10, but his order book is understandably pretty full.

He's also building a stunning Daytona Coupe for a lucky customer.

That's it?
Cheaper than a Kirkham!

FatBoy 12-09-2017 12:44 AM

Much cheaper than a Kirkham, and that's with original style suspension, which is a further upgrade on a Kirkham.

The price can go up if you want a 427 S/O for example. He has very recently finished a 427 Street Cobra with no side-pipes, roll bar or hood scoop. The filler cap wasn't recessed and the dashboard had the Street layout with a glovebox. It even had 7 1/2" wheels all round.

Personally, I think he's too cheap and I keep telling him to put his prices up, so get your order in before he starts to take notice of what I've told him. ;)

Available in left hand drive?

Can anyone guess at the shipping costs to USA and if there would be any tariffs,
or customs charges? Would the USA allow a completed car over without all the so
called safety equipment, or would it be exempt from that? Just curious. Thanks.

Yes, I think most of them have been LHD so far.

Yes,

There will be duty and customs fees/brokerage/bond costs. The "complete" car may only be imported as a "race/display" vehicle under a US DOT "HS-7" https://help.cbp.gov/ci/fattach/get/...+Form+HS-7.pdf and may not be registered. You CAN import a "rolling chassis" for self completion just like a Superformance, Kirkham, Backdraft, etc.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. :D

Turnkey minus (No engine, trans or diff) would be around £18,000 (Approx $24,000) less. ;)

4 bolt 4HU diff in cast iron, Girling brakes +£5000

Cheers.
Dave.

The Street 427 Paul refers to is actually my car and in this instance, the steering wheel is on the correct side of the car, i.e. the left hand side. I am delighted with the quality of the workmanship, the period accurate appearance and indeed the mechanical specification. It's currently finished in bare aluminium, but it will be painted shortly and more photo's will follow soon. And possibly a set of Sunburst's too...

Regards

Lee
