hood prop rod clip
looking for a correct repro clip that holds the hood (bonnet) prop rod when the hood is in the closed position. From my research it appears that it was made of a yellow plastic (white that turned yellow with age?) but I am not certain. An old post (10 years) referenced a person who had them for sale for just a few dollars. That phine number is no longer in service.
Any assistance much appreciated. The devil is in the details, right? Best Ron |
I've never really looked that closely at it but I think it's a flat steel hook, painted black and attached to the right hand aluminum splash panel.

Sent you a picture via email. The original hood strut hook is a piece of metal strap, bent into a J shape and bolted to the right inner fender. Paul |
Even if mickmate (Acton Custom) doesn't advertise them, me thinks he's got it anyways.

I have the same problem and look forward to seeing where these might be available.
As an interim solution, I went to Ace Hardware and bought a "j" looking clip with black rubber coating and bolted it in place. It works fine and looks ok, although not as strong as the original. |
