Bill,

Thank you so much for your insight into CSX2286. Can you tell me which Tach is being used. I think it is a Smith Chronometric.

Thanks again for your help.

You are really pressing me Tom, it was a Smith but what model, I really don't remember. What fuel pumps are you using, as the originals were Bendix. three lite metallic blue in color and I believe no longer available. Are you doing the dif cooler pump off the driveshaft?

Right now just doing research for a friend of mine.

The Facet fuel pumps I believe are the old Bendix fuel pumps.

Here is a picture CSX2299 with a diff driven oil cooler pump

I know some of the other Coupes had three electrical fuel pumps, one of which was used for the diff pump.
Which way was 2286?

Yep, in the Gurney photo that is definitely a chronometric Smiths tach lying on its side to give the red line at the top. These can still be found and there are guys in the UK who can rebuild/repair them - I had one in my race Healey a few years back. They are bigger than the stock 4" instrument, fun to watch, and horribly unreliable.
The second steering wheel photo shows a completely different interior.

2286 was the same as pictured, 3 electric pumps were for the fuel system. Diff pump was a Ford power steering pump used for the differential.

Tom,

I was wrong, as I did a little more thinking about, it that was a Stewart Warner tach.

Actually found a picture of that tripod arrangement for the rear view mirror. Please don't ask me to post it as I have real problems on this site.
