So the Cobra 427 and AC 289 Sport share the same shock?

According to the Rinsey Mills, AC Ace & Cobra, yes.
|
It seems that way.. According the Rinsey Mills book AC Ace & Cobra yes,
As the 289 sports Used the 427 chassis and street body, surely it goes without saying most if not all of the suspension components were shared as well, ??Apart from he front springs?? The Armstrong PDF lists AT11 heavy duty shocks, I still need to find out if it was the Commercial Blue range. |

Thanks for sharing the catalog information but the 1963-65 Cobra (leaf spring chassis) units made during the manufacturing period are not stamped with the identification numbers you have posted above. The catalog page shows two sets of numbers, the current at time of publication numbers and under that another set of numbers in parenthesis. The text listed in parenthesis correlate with what was actually stamped on the bodies of assemblies. If you are going hunting based on part numbers you probably need find samples of exactly what you want and determine what part numbers were stamped into them and if different than what is in your catalog quote both new and old part numbers. Dan Samples of identification text as exhibited on original Cobra production units during the CSX24xx chassis range are below: Rear sample: TYPE AT9/GS 215 8 Front sample: TYPE A.T.9/ 2 7 98 |
Just being lazy... ;-) I should have posted both sets...
AT11's for the 289S and 427 have come up with what i need for now but no dimensions tech specs as yet.. |
Original 427 Dampers
Hi all, did the original 427 Armstrong or Koni dampers have adjustable spring platforms? If so, any chance anyone has a photo of them, preferably on the car, showing the spring platforms?
