Attaching your 427 badges to your valve covers

Hello everyone,

Greetings from England!

My aluminium bodied 427 'Street' car is almost ready for the road, so I am now focusing on the all important details.

The car is fitted with an RPM side oiler and has the chrome pent roof valve covers and before I try and fit the 427 badges, I wanted some advice on the best way of attaching them as permanently as possible.

Any ideas would be most welcome!

Lee

I have used good automotive double side tape, so far no problem.

I would also think windshield urethane would work as well.

Thank you - I suspected that might be the case, but I thought I'd better check!

Engine silicon sealant works well as an adhesive.

Can handle exhaust temp, so on a valve cover should be fine.

I used J-B Weld. Permanent and can handle the temps.

I've used automotive double side tape too. Works great.

I used a 2 part epoxy, and they stayed in place for many years.

Used doubled- sided tape and it lasted maybe two seasons.

JB weld adhesive been good for 15 years +
So I would use this every time.

Good luck!

3M has a product called Panel Bond
check it out to see if it will handle the heat.
Body shops use Panel Bond to glue sheet metal onto cars. The shops weld very few parts onto cars these days.
I used some years ago to glue metal to fiberglass. Great product.
