Starter solenoid, COB cars
Is anyone able to give definitive advice as to where the starter solenoid was mounted on r/p leafspring COB cars (RHD)? COB6029 (John Haynes' car) has the solenoid mounted on the vertical face of the LH footwell, just behind the LH head, but I'm sure I've seen them mounted on top of the footwell also. Any advice gratefully accepted!
Also, can anyone confirm whether the main wiring harness in a COB RHD UK-market car should be cotton-wrapped, or wrapped with black tape? I had assumed cotton, but again COB6029 has tape. Roger |
OK, I have one answer - all COB cars I can find any details on came from the factory with tape-wound wiring looms. It would seem that no COB cars had cotton-covered harnesses.
