The car is rough as a corn cob, but its got patina and history thus $$$$$.
Technically paint was not going tpo make it faster and the QA in the paint booth I think was the part time surfer, smoking and sanding with a buddy following with paint. LOL

This is my point, they were race cars and not show queens. Even today’s multimillion dollar vintage race cars have been over restored and look far better than they ever did even when new.
