289 cobra wire wheel question
 
was wondering what the percentage of the original 289 street cars came with chrome wire wheels versus the painted ones , most replicas you see have the chrome wheels very few painted
any info would be great

There was just a thread about said subject recently.....searching the subject here before asking goes along way.

A lot were converted to chrome after they were first sold! Probably, by the early 80s, most had chrome. The recent thread on small block Cobra wheels, was about painting or powder coating chrome wheels to the original silver paint look.
