427 Comp Cobra: What color for: Transmission? Bellhousing? Engine? Pulleys? Driveshafts?
Thanks |
Black......
|
Black, with lots of chrome and polished aluminum accessories. Sorry, just noticed this was the originality thread. Disregard my post.

Several different colors, but RAW would be one.
Much of the parts on the Cobra were raw metal. There were parts on the Cobra that were semi gloss black, or a treated metal such as phosphate oil coated. The blocks depending on years were either black or corporate blue. Drive shafts were either black or raw metal.

Any timeframe or tie to S/N? thanks Paul P |
The blocks were supplied by Ford
Most of the change over from Black engine blocks to Blue occured in Late 65 with the release of the 66 Ford models. I don't have a specific Shelby serial or CSX number of when that occured.

I saw an unrestored 1966. It came new with a blue 428. All the 427 I've seen were black.
