Fuel Pump
Can anyone identify what the original S/C's used for a fuel pump.
Electric or Mechanical If mechanical, which version w/ or w/o Canister filter. If a separate filter was used, where was it located? Thanks Paul |
Original S/Cs (and Comp cars) used a mechanical fuel pump with the standard separate Ford canister filter up by the distributor, not mounted on the pump. It was supplemented by two electrical pumps in the trunk that were used as a 'reserve' and controlled by a dash-mounted switch.
The line from the trunk-mounted pumps met at a tee-fitting on the mechanical pump. |
