Fender Emblem 289 FIA

I've a 289 FIA Emblem at one of the fenders of my car. As I've never seen them on the internet I would be curios to know more about it? Where they used as well on the original cars? Where are they available? Many thanks for your help. ALF |
That looks like a modern badge...several vendors have had variations on the side emblem with different text available.
Checking vintage pics, it seems the original FIA Comp cars had no side emblems installed. |
I understood that a lot of early 289 cars just used a Ford emblem, is that correct Ron?

Right, John...that was the badge used on all the CSX2000 cars, simply "Powered by Ford"
It was the FIA cars that did not have the side badge installed...maybe it made more room for sponsor decals? :p |
