Info on Footbox Layout
On a picture of CSX3042, the footbox shows what I think is the Capacitive Discharge box for the ignition. This is a link to the picture on CSXINFO.NET.
Not being a Ford guy till now (I am learning Fords and FE's fast), can someone confirm that this is what it is. I am also curious why two ballast resistors?? Can anyone tell me what the other electrical items mounted on the frame brace, above the throttle linkage are? Thanks Paul |

Sure... that is the Ford transistorized ignition module and resistor mounted on the footbox.
Many...if not most...S/Cs were shipped with them. They would have a matching version of the distributor. (Not at my files, but I think it was a -E vs -F that distinguished the distributor by part number.) |
