Info on Footbox Layout

On a picture of CSX3042, the footbox shows what I think is the Capacitive Discharge box for the ignition. This is a link to the picture on CSXINFO.NET.

Not being a Ford guy till now (I am learning Fords and FE's fast), can someone confirm that this is what it is. I am also curious why two ballast resistors??

Can anyone tell me what the other electrical items mounted on the frame brace, above the throttle linkage are?

Thanks

Paul

Ron,
No one has posted any info on this. Do you have any info in your archives?

Sure... that is the Ford transistorized ignition module and resistor mounted on the footbox.

Many...if not most...S/Cs were shipped with them. They would have a matching version of the distributor.

(Not at my files, but I think it was a -E vs -F that distinguished the distributor by part number.)
