Door Hinge color for early CSX2000 cars
Can someone tell me the color of the door hinges on the early CSX2000 cars? I am in the process of painting and have found pictures with the hinges painted body and some painted with the interior color so I am not sure which is correct. Also, I have seen covers over the hinges on some cars and was wondering if that was done on all cars or on later ones only.
Thanks,
Jay

Hinge covers only on 427 cars. Good question regarding the hinge color. I have been trying to figure that one out for years. My best guess is on the 260/289 cars the hinges were body color originally, painted with the rest of the car, and then painted to match the interior later. Whether this was done before sale or later by owners, I haven't figured out in over 25 years. I would love to here what others think. What about the dirt bag Cobra? What color are the hinges?

You guys probably know better, but why wouldn't they match the hinges to the interior? An example would be in Jim's gallery. A beige car with red interior. The beige hinge cover would look odd inside the red interior?
