Sealing Of Parking Brake opening
I'm finishing up the inside of my car prior to sending it off to the upholstery shop and have a question on what to do with the parking brake opening on the transmission tunnel. Was it left open, or was a piece of rubber (or something else) attached to the right side of the tunnel to seal the carpet from the underside of the car?
Thanks,
Jay

I think there's a leather boot to keep out the elements. Not sure if there's anything below that though.

As far as I have seen, only the carpet acted as a seal for that hole, but I sure would like to have something else there, too. The heat is fairly intense. Jim Maxwell

Thanks Larry and Jim. I think I am going to cut a piece of rubber and rivet it in place. Hopefully that will keep the heat and water out.

Jay, that sounds like a great idea. I may try that myself. Jim
