Some Ads From The Past

1 Attachment(s)
Hey, I'm new to this swell forum and would like to start things out with a little marketplace nostalgia. Does anybody know of any more original cobra prices pre-1989? Please share! I love hearing about these past prices!

Damn, the 39.1 kb upload limit is really exacerbating the process of uploading these ads, because some of them are much larger than this size. Are there any other methods through which I can post more old ads?

Here are two ads from Road & Track, June 1975, when Jaws premiered in theaters and the sports car market was just beginning to pick up! A Ferrari LWB California Spyder was offered in the same issue for $9,600; for the sake of comparison.

Here is another from Hemmings Motor News, November 1977.

I have a story about that 427 in R&T...but I am on the road now; I'll post it later.

I called them all, for some reason nobody is answering the phone...

Check out my images for more ads! I will be updating them on a consistent basis.

I'll offer double their asking price if still available!

I'd be happy to take any of them off their hands at twice the price!

It is amazing in it? Great idea posting these old adds. I've told my wife and friends several times that if I had kept all the hot cars that I owned in the 70's it would be better then any stock we owned. At least until this recent downturn!

dont post them unless you have a box of kleenex to share, or a time machine.

One of my close friends owns that 427 CSX3177. After driving his car a few times, I realized I had to have one. Out with the R-Model and in with the Cobra. This car corrupted me.

If you click on my photo gallery the dark blue 427 pictured is the car.

The "James Southard" who offered the cars became rather "infamous" in later years.
