Roll bar angle
Hey guys
The next step in my progress to build a better representation to the origional is my roll bar. I am making a skinnier roll bar than the 2" one that came with my package and since I have to put in new mounts anyway, I also want to get the correct angle for the roll bar. I know the origional roll bars went to the floor and followed the angle of the rear bulkhead however, I cannot follow that guideline on my chassis. If someone can give me an idea, or better yet a measurement, of what the angle is (rearward lean) of the roll origional bar is I would appreciate it. Thanks |

Certainly don't wish to kick the behive, but the drawings that have past by me represent the bar leg mount at 15 degrees off vertical. Assuming the base of the bar is a right angle, I would deduct the bar continuing along the 15 degrees as well. Nick, can you shed any further light on the subject ? Mike. |
I took some good profile shots of originals, levelled the wheels, dropped them into CAD and drew a line along them. That gave me a 10 deg angle but it could be a little more. I've used 10 and I like the look of it.

I've decided to put mine at 10 deg. by putting the angle gauge on the bar and tilting it to where it looked good for me. I have the a large Kirkhams poster on my shop wall and it seems set at 12 deg. No question in my mind they look better leaning back.
