2nd Annual Current River Cobra Rally
 

It's back again! Plans are currently being made for the 2nd Annual Current River Cobra Rally in Salem, MO. The format will be a little different this year in that it will be a one day event including a car show around the historic Salem courthouse from about 9:00am until 1:00pm when we will all take off for a cruise on some of the scenic roads south of Salem. The car show will not be judged, it will be just a laid back event giving the local people a chance to see the cars. There will be a small entry fee and 100% of the proceeds will go to some organization in Salem.

We're only about 1 1/2 weeks away from this years rally. Check out the website below for the most current information. Although this is advertised as being for Cobras, all makes and models of cars are welcome, especially anything Ford. Hope to see you there.

Tomorrow's the day we're headed down to join up with the MACC at Salem. Looking forward to some great roads in SEMO. Wish more of you would have joined us!

Preparing to head out to the 2nd Annual Current River Cobra Rally in Salem, MO. This event is organized by the Mid-America Cobra Club of Greater Kansas City Area, St. Louis Gateway Cobra Club and Salem Current River Cruisers.
Met up Saturday morning @ 8am, our fearless leader / organizer was running a little behind schedule, but it was worth the wait. It was a little cool in the morning, perfect for a 2 hour drive to Salem!

Arrived in Salem and our hosts routed us into the Courthouse Square and lined us up for the car show. In attendance: Tim and Mark P in this picture.

The mayor was going to do some donuts on main street in this Cobra, but a bad knee and knee brace prevented him for hot dogging it for us. The St. Louis club (Gateway Cobra Club) made some donations and bought multiple arms’ lengths of 50/50 tickets, for the Salem High School Marching Band.

After the car show, we enjoyed lunch together at a local diner in-town, then we met up and the Salem Sheriff led us out of Salem for a cruise through the Ozarks Hills and back roads.

I took a lot of **** for being the back marker, but following these beautiful cars and hearing the roar of those v8s up and down and around those winding roads, made it all worth it! Thanks guys! Had a BLAST!!!

Got in almost an hour of driving under overcast skies, trying to race around the edge of the storm. It was a cool drive in the morning, but nothing a jacket couldn’t handle.

After the worst lifted, we made it on into St. Louis. The rain was only a minor inconvenience to what was a GREAT weekend.

Sorry I missed it, I was really hoping to make the event this year, but my car isn't done yet. Hopefully you do it again next year.
