Cruise Colfax, Denver

The second annual Cruise Colfax is this Saturday, Sept 20. http://www.oldcarcouncil.org/CruiseColfax.html

This will be the hot ticket for the year. Last year was a real boomin' event. Hundreds of cars coming and going. Parked and cruising. We had big 4x4 pickups, cobras, mustangs, shelby's, porshe's, a wedding couple in a rolls. You name it, and it was there. I saw cars I'v never seen outside of a museum. Remember the little roadster with the pocket doors?

There will be 5 "stations" designated all along Colfax. People will be cruising from one spot to the next, stopping to chat, moving on. It's a real mobile event, not just a car show. The Cobra Club will be helping out. We'll be at East High School; last year it was the place to be.

Be there, or be square.

Correction. The Cobra Club will not be at the East High School. We're responsible for a differant location, Davies Chuck Wagon @ 9495 W Colfax. We'll be there as a group from 1300-1530. After that......?

You missed it. The weather was good (most of the day). It was hot and sunny until mid afternoon. Then some clouds rolled in and cooled evrrything off. It was a beautifull evening to be out and about, no matter what you were driving. Of course, it was better in a Cobra.

The Mile Hi Cobra Club worked one of the west locations until about 1530.

Some of the people had differant ideas about working.

Even though these cars looked great........

Sometimes you need a little draw to get the people in.

Later in the afternoon, we moved over to Invesco Field, home of the Broncos. There was a huge variety of cars everywhere. Everything from a ratted out pick up, a rodded Ford station wagon, to a brand new shelby KR500 rag top.

Some people even brought their pets along.

This is probably the luckiest kid around. His own hot rod at that age.

Hmmm, where have I read about this?

We ended up driving home in the rain. It wasn't too bad. We stayed mostly dry; except for that steady stream on my left leg.

All in all, a great day. If you missed out this year, make sure you go next year.
