Driveshaft safety Loop
I'm installing a Driveshaft safety Loop and I need to know should it be centered around the driveshaft or offset for up and down movement.
Thanks Mike:confused: |
Centered both directions. The shaft will travel a both up and down with the suspension. It travels side to side as well but to a much lesser degree.

Hi
I am also going to build a safety loop around my driveshaft for mainly certification road legal requirements, it seems a bit stupid with the driveshaft being only a foot long. How wide is your loop and what thickness material are you using? Cheers Ant |
Ant,
Mine is 2"X1/4" |
The shorter it is...
The more power it has to punch thru the FIBERGLASS and take your hip out, if a u-joint breaks......do please consider some type of heavy sheet STEEL shield...
This is one reason I like the West Coast...all steel double layer pan and heavy duty shield on the driveline section A strap is not going to work well on a short shaft behind all that HP, if things go south |
