windshield support frames
Does anybody know if you can buy replacement windshield support frames?? If where i would like to know!!! Have seen just complete windshield assemblies????/

Be careful here guys....
The British made windshield assemblies are serialized (serial numbers are vibro-etched on all matching parts) and the supports are match drilled to the windscreen frame, so mixing and matching may not be a clean swap. Not to mention the fact that there have been several different manufacturers of windshield assemblies, both foreign and domestic. Better make sure you're talking apples and apples.

Thats what i am thinking/was wondering if could redrill them/be hard to match though....

There are at least two problems with redrilling the frames.
1) if the existing holes are within the radius of the new hole location, it will be difficult to drill a clean new hole and you will have a figure eight hole when you are done. 2) if the existing holes are outside the radius of the new hole location, you'll wind up with extraneous holes that will need to be plugged and refinished (chromed) In either case, unless the existing holes are right where they need to be (very unlikely) you'll need to plug the holes first and then redrill after carefully matching the holes in the frame to each support. This assumes that the frame supports you buy are from the same manufacturer of the same type/model of windshield assembly, otherwise the contour will not match either. :CRY: Some of the less expensive domestic assemblies were constructed of aluminum and the chrome peels off over time.
