Anyone interested in a 390 block?

I have a 1967 390FE block that's for sale....C7ME-A cast...high nickel content...standard bore. The block has been blasted and cleaned...it's also been sonic tested (I have the paperwork from that) and also has been wet-particle magnafluxed in almost every area. Slight pitting in #1 cylinder...machine shop said .030" would clean it up. Sonic testing reveals that you could probably go .060" with no problems. I'm selling the block, main caps of course, and a front timing cover. $100.

I might be interested. any other parts for it?

my friends father lives in Ashland and he is out that way a couple time a month

Nope...that's about all I got. I thought I wanted to do an FE buildup...but I changed my mind....

would like to buy block if available thanks john

John....you have mail.

SCOBRAC 01-01-2004 09:13 PM

Ok,

I've seen these blocks before... I'm sure you measured the bore and know it is a 390 but C7ME-A is a 428 bock code. No wonder it will bore beyond .060

Yeah, I know it's a 390....but the cylinder walls look awfully thick...I was kinda excited when I found it...with it being a 428 block code...I probably should keep the thing...but I really have no need for it now.

jconn 01-03-2004 04:01 PM
