n79825, the problem with the wheels not selling is that the 4 3/4" bolt pattern is the Chevy pattern. Most of us have Ford pattern suspension (4 1/2").

Mmm, thanks, I couldn't figure it out since they were really priced right. Maybe ebay's the way??? Sell to other than Cobra customers??? Or just wait till another ERA guy comes along.

I am curious about the rim width and backspacing dimensions on your wheels. They seem at odds with the ERA recommendations. Did ERA recommend these sized wheels?

Yes, the Team III's fit just fine on the car. Then I came across some spare cash and decided to change over to Trigo adapters and knockoffs. If I would have known the trouble in getting the adapters to fit I would have stayed with the Team III bolt-ons. But the Trigos sure look nice now that they're on.

what was the problem with getting the adapters to fit? I was thinking about going with the trigos to, but I dont need anymore nightmares. Mike Koenig

Well, the adapters are machined perfectly, and to very close tolerences. My experience is that the lug nut studs aren't mounted very straight, even on new rebuilt drums, so the adapters won't go on. To me, the right way to make them fit is to go through a long process marking and bumping the studs from the sides with a lead hammer, re-marking, re-hammering, re-marking, re-hammering, etc., etc. The wrong way is to ream the adapter holes oversize.

With normal bolt on wheels this problem doesn't occur because the lug nuts are cone shaped on the bottom and pull the wheels on to the hubs centered just right.

Thanks for the info, it will be takin into consideration.

Hi n79825,

Could you give me your Team III wheels' back spacing/dimensions, etc., and are they 15, 16, 17 inch wheels?
Thanks!

Jay

Well, they're finally sold. Thanks for your interest.
