nice toploader on e-bay
Please check out this auction for a very nice toploader tranny. It is small input, 28 spline output. Don't know if it is close or wide.

It was in a 63 Galaxie when I got it, not sure if that was it's original home or not, just know that's what it was in last.

I was told by a fellow ebay member to count the teeth on second gear - 28 teeth = close, 31 teeth = wide ratio. I counted the teeth... 28... so I suppose it is close ratio.

What's the total length?

Length = 27 9/16" from face of bellhousing to end of tailshaft (not counting output shaft protrusion) Would be a couple inches more to center of the U-joint. On the front, 6" from end of pilot to face of bellhousing. So total length from tip of pilot to end of output shaft is about 34 1/2"
