can anybody help me find out what the rear gear in my car is

Block the front tires, jack up the rear end, both sides, put on jack stands, put tranny in neutral, and rotate the tire one revolution. Count the revolutions the drive shaft makes, and that is your rear gear/ratio.

i am changing the motor so i have the driveshaft out of the car but i have the tag off the rearend if that is any help

You don't have to have the driveshaft installed. Just mark one of the ears of the yoke on the pinion gears that the driveshaft bolts to and turn your wheel one full turn as described above. Count the times the yoke turns. Example, one turn of wheel = 3 turns of yoke and you have 3:00 gears. 1 1/2 turns of yoke = 3:56 or whatever is in that range.

the tag has stamped on the top line 274f the bottom line is 2sL73 A75 5G25
