Glad you sold your rockers .
I want to know the reason why Dove in the eyes of some are not the best .
I for one think Dove is "as good" ( if not better ). The removal of the metal to make room for the brass bushing makes them thin , and a weak point .
Just trying to protect my investment in Dove .

Although I would like to hear one of the FE builders speak on this , I was told from the builder /racer, he atributes rocker failure due to thinning of the rocker to make room for the bushing .The Doves have been the ones to hold up to harsh racing , and recomended them over most others . (not including TD's etc.)
I guess everything has its limits .

John Martin John I have heard the same thing. However 2 things I have found to cause this problem. 1st cams with over .600 lift and not being set up correctly to the head and valve. 2nd Oiling of the rockers either kind, the bushing ones have a slot in the middle for oil, but the older set like mine I had to put a .030" groove to help the oiling system. The new set I got are T&D. Just have to figure witch set of heads are going to get machined for the setup:confused: Rick Lake

"The" book on FE's talks about the lubrication difference between hydraulic and mechanical lifter rocker shafts. The groove versus hole as Rick pointed out is the trick to look for.
