get with me on your bellhousing if you still have it. I'll buy it from you. Thanks aaron429

I was checking out the Cobras on the home page when I saw a similar bellhousing for a 460 that was shaved on the bottom. This guy sawed through the bottom 2 holes to get his clearance. Do you have any photos of yours? Michael

Does it look something like this??

Rory428 03-28-2005 09:13 PM

Yes, my scattershield is quite similar to that one, although mine has had a bit more removed from the lower flange. Those 2 holes are missing completly, likely about 1/2" more material removed. I`ll try to post a pic mid week.

429 clutch

Do you still have clutch and scattershield? Do you know if a Borg/Warner T5 will bolt up to it?

TomP 04-01-2005 06:52 PM

The clutch would fit a T5 and you can get a simple plate adapter to use it with the scattershield but a T5 is not strong enough for a 429-460.

429 clutch

Do you think it would hold up for just street driving? The reason I ask is because I have one just lying around in the way. I think it would be more fun than the C6. Who knows if the clutch and flywheel is still for sale????

Rory428 04-03-2005 09:41 AM

Still available

Yes, I still have the clutch assembly & scattershield. As Tom mentioned, a T5 is pretty "light duty" for a big block. The 5.0 Mustang T5`s use a considerably longer input shaft than a toploader, so an adapter/spacer would be required, but another concern would be the location of the T5`s shifter. I think it would be too far back, from the looks of things. Although the McLeod "Street Twin" clutch I have was ran (briefly) with a big input toploader, I do have a pair of new discs for use with a small input toploader, which has the same splines as a T5.

How much do you think it would cost to ship all that to Texas,76502. By the time I find a toploader and pay shipping it may not be the right thing for me.
