FUNFER2, my stock pulley is 6 3/4", so the 5 3/4" is an underdrive, and the 5 1/2" is only a tiny bit more underdrive, so the 5 3/4" should be fine.

:)

I just checked it out. The part # is from Summit, not Jegs. It shows it to be 5-1/2" not 5-3/4". So, it's the same dia. I have and should work fine. Is the stock dia. really 6-3/4" ? I assume, that size would circulate more water. Is that correct, or the other way around ?
Thank you much.

Yes, an underdrive crank pulley spins the alternator and water pump slower, but usualy only creates problems with the alternator charging when running "big" stereo components. The advantage of the underderive crank pulliey is more HP/TQ, quicker revs.

Thanks, appreciate the infomation. I'll buy then.

FUNFER2 07-17-2005 09:18 AM

Dave- I'll buy it. e-mail me with your address & I'll send a check. Too bad you don't have the water pump pulley also.

Thanks,
Kev

March FE aluminum crank pulley-SOLD

SOLD

A slower spinning water pump allows the water to stay in radiator to cool a little bit longer. I think.

I agree.......I think ? LOL !
It sounds right. Like if you run a 160 deg. thermostat insted of a 180, the 160 is always open, (after the eng. is warmed up) not letting the radiator cool the water.
