Just bought one the other day and now I'm down to cutting open the oil filter of my riding mower!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some filters were real "clean", the race car filter had a small amount of "trash" in it, had others look at it and they said that was normal................... David |
If you see any "flaking" of bearing material that is cause for concern. Small bits of filings and a minor amount of git is normal from what I have been told. Initial filter changes on a fresh engine will generally have all sorts of stuff, including bits of "Red Rags".
