How big of a pain was it to switch the main shaft? What did it cost you to rebuild it and do that? I have an HEH-G box as well as a RUG box (galaxie with a 390) Not sure which way I will go at this point...

Trans is sold via Ebay.
The main shaft wasn't too bad. Of course you basically have to take apart the whole trans. I did it all myself and bought the parts from David Kee. You'll need a bearing press and a quality pair of snap ring pliers.
