Retracting lisc plate?

Is there any way to install such a rear plate on a finished cobra? My initial thought is no, but maybe someone has a source or idea? I have seen them on rods in the past, thought it was a fun and great idea, and since my personalized plates will be desireable to kids, and easy to swipe if it is parked somewhere for a few minutes, it seems a good idea if just for that.

I've seen these on Rods as well and liked them, though I've never checked on my local laws about hiding a plate. Never seen one on a Cobra but the one here:http://www.hotrodproducts.com/retract-a-plate.htm might work, sounds like it lowers then slides in?

Food for thought anyway...

Merry Christmas, :)

There are a lot of things that can be stolen off the cobra in a few minutes, but the plates are the least of my worries. Put you plates on with some allen head bolts its alot cheaper than some BS looking plate retractor. If you worry about someone stealing something off you car when you go into a reasturant or any other place maybe you better just leave it at home, on the other hand that is where Randy K's car was stolen from. Cancel the car and go out and buy a KIA.

Back in Black, suggest you leave that wonderful Pac NW and move to Detroit where it is safer and if anything is taken, chances are the license plate is all that is left !!! muggings, car jackings, outright theft, bump and runs, Colt 45's replace LoJac as a theft deterrent, drive by shootings, pot holes that will swallow your car or shake it apart, crazed drivers...yep, life is too good , peaceful and quiet where you are, come over to my town !!! Tanks for da laughs guys

What a bunch of jokers cobra owners must be!

   :JEKYLHYDE

Thanks for the link Bill, and for the giggles, you other guys. By the way, yes, we have lower crime here, but maybe part of the reason is that law abiding citizens here can get concealed pistol permits. I carry an 18 shot Browning Hi-Power on my person usually, with two spare magazines, and a colt .45 in an attache' case. I just don't want my plate stolen and then have to drive such a conspicuous car home with no plates. Then have to go in and order a new set and drive around with no plates until they get here. The car will have a remote paging alarm, but the plates could be stolen by the time I got there (kids)
The allen screws are a good idea too. what kid carries an allen set? :p

I was at Run & Gun last Sept. and took pictures of the many different ways tags where mounted. One guy from Ill. had a tag mounted on the front under his turn light. Looked great! Look in Kit Car Mag at the different tag mounts.
