1973 351W Alternator Mount needed

I am trying to mount my Ford alternator on my 1973 351W. I have SB Brackets which don't seem to line up with the available holes. ... . Does anybody have the proper parts they would let go or a suggestion for a good alternative??? Thanks

Ron,

I just attached my alternator directly to the Edelbrock head on my 1970 351W using a long bolt, spacer tube and a couple washers to align the pulleys. Are you using the stock Ford heads? Do you have the triangular piece that attaches to the front of the head first? Mine was set up this way in stock form with a big, heavy cast iron mount for the alternator that bolted to that triangular iron piece.

I bought the motor freshly rebuilt without the alternator on it. Yes the original heads are still on it. I may try your method and see if it'll work. Someone told me to use the March setup, but I don't want to spent the big bucks for that. Thanks.

There is a special aluminum triangular shaped part that attaches to the cylinder head. Then you will need to get the proper adjustment bracket and the bracket that attaches to the water pump.

I went to a bone yard and pulled these pieces off of a 1974 LTD with a 351W. Total cost was $15.
