HELP!!! VDO Clock needed
I am in the finishing stages of putting my Cobra on the road but am missing a key part....A CLOCK!
I am in the need of VDO part number 370-702. This is a white faced with black graphics and pointers. It is a Cockpit Royale series and VDO no longer produces it. HELP!!!!!! Any input on who to call would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. John |
You may give Dana a call at Shell Valley and see if they have one. I got lucky and they had a VDO clock on the shelf that matched.
Good Luck |
Hi John, maybe we can help each other out. I have the same set of gauges and I have a clock. I may be able to source another one over here. I am having trouble finding a cockpit royale, white face oil temp gauge. See what you can find and I will do the same.

Scctt,
Thank you, I will try them. ac andy, Thank you, I will look for one but have never run across a Cockpit Royale oil temp gauge. |
John: did you try Summit? That's where I got my extra VDO gages from including the clock. Don't have the white faces though, Black with white numbers. Ya never know. I see we have the same taste in car builders. Engine looks familiar in the pic's. Jasper, York ----?
It looks like you have one of Joe's latest bodies after the mold change. How was the build? I see you went with a painter. I decided on the gel-coat and forgo the paint shop for a while. No stripe for now, just the chrome yellow. I will probably stripe it black and clear coat it in the future. Maybe next year. Are you planning to be at the "Fling" in June? There should be a few A & C's there. I'm in Ft.Wayne on business a couple times a year, maybe next time in we can meet and talk about "uh lets' see, cars!!!!" Good luck with the hunt for the gage. Post some pic's after the paint shop. Jim |
John,
Just a long shot but our local NAPA store has VDO Gauges and I asked him about the clock you wanted. They only have the ones like mine now which are black face and white numerals but he said some of the other stores may have some left over of that style. You know the way things go. Make something for a few years and then change it so if anyone wants to replace something they have to change everything or hope to find an older style left over somewhere. Good Luck. Ron :) :) ;) |
Yep, tried both NAPA and Summit.
Thank you.**) |
