Just depends on what you are starting with, all the different chassis manufacturers give you different goods. Some just need the drivetrain, some need a whole late model mustang to cannbalize for parts.

Check out Factory Five Racing for a easy and inexpensive build.

Afly,
It is good to see that someone your age has automotive taste.Don't get me wrong I have seen some nicely done imports but with the money those guys spent on a car that when it comes right down to it probably won't be worth a tenth of what it cost you could put together a very nice Cobra. And you know what...contrary to what all your friends probably think...CHICKS DIG 'EM. :D Now for the bad news... 1. They are expensive!!! even the so called lower tier cobras will set you back $25,000 if done with mostly new parts. 2. Does your dad let you go out and ram around in his vette? because if he won't let you go out in a car with 345hp,air bags, crumple zones, traction control and anti-lock brakes then I have to believe that he won't let you out in a car with less weight, probably as much if not more hp and almost no saftey equipment other than your brain (and if you are like me when I was 16 and like almost any other 16 year old boy I have ever known then your brain is not considered saftey equipment, just the opposite;) ) 3. And this is the biggie...I seriously doubt that at 16 you could find a insurance company that would touch you and your Cobra with a ten foot pole!!! I am sorry, I am not trying to be a keep you down but am just trying to put it into perspective for you.Your best bet is to concentrate on school, then college, and finally a job that will allow you to enter into this lovely world of ridiculously impractical cars and all of the wonderful (although a little offcenter) people that enjoy them. Don't buy anymore hugeass wings that won't accomplish any more than to put excessive(If you go fast enough) rear downforce on a front wheel drive car(never will understand that) and start saving know. good luck and don't give up the dream, Dan |
Very good you like the cobra's, but remain in school and learn math and english, then go to college then after all this build cobras.:D :D :D :D :D
