narrowed ford rearend
I,m looking for a narrowed ford 8.8 or 9 inch with the quad shock setup. Could use housing, axles or complete with brakes. Have sn95 which is too wide(62 inches). Thanks,Reg Perry

If you measured between the inside of your rotors and came up with 62 inches then you may want to consider looking at a used Explorer rearend from a salvage. Most will measure about 52" and come with 3.50-3.73 gears. If you really want to add the quad shocks to the Explorer rearend that will be very easy. I can buy a Explorer 8.8 rearend with 3.73 : 1 gears here in Tulsa for about $300-$400. I would think you could find something around that price too. If you decide to go the narrowing route you will be looking at spending between $1500 and $2000. Clois |
I'm running a SN95 that I had narrowed 2.5" per side. Cost me a little less than $400, including new Moser axles, bearings, and seals.

Why quad shocks?, bad suspension design. If the pickup points are correct, one coil over shock per side will do just fine! grumpy |
