Real Cobra

Looking for glove box latch and a-arm bushings for a 427sc (a real one)

Tom Kirkham 02-04-2004 08:01 AM

The A-arm bushing for a 427 S/C or a comp car can be bought at any bearing supply house. All it is a bronze flange bushing. If you have control arms from a street car you will have to have the bushing lathed or modify the control arm. If you can't find the bushing give me a call at 801-377-8224

Try Cobra Restorers in Atlanta for the glove box latch.

bushings/bearings

joee,
Are you looking for the upper trunnion D-66034R bearings, the lower outer ball joint S1CS-3075C, Metalstic D13-935, or S1CS-3077-A?
If it's a comp model suspension then there are other parts numbers.

A CSX3000 or CSX4000?

Because, you know, the latter are just replicas.

(JUST KIDDING!) :)

I was under the impression that none of the csx3000 comp or s/c cars had glove boxes, let alone glove box latches, and only the street 427 cobra's did. If that is the case, then joee, you don't have a real one.

Thanks for the help guys, the rubber part of the bushing is what I'm looking for as they are tapered. The car is a 3000 serial 30xx. It does have a glove box and I'm 110% sure it's a real Cobra this car was bought at the local Ford dealer which was less than a mile from my house and I know the entire history of the Cobra and it has never left the area,it has been stored at my friends house for the last 30yrs.

Okay, we need a FAQ for what is and what is not.

Who's got the popcorn?

Excaliber 02-05-2004 10:18 AM

Sounds cool JOEE. Myself and I'm sure the rest of the Club would love to hear more about the car. The CSX number would be excellent.

It could easily be a street car converted to SC, or an SC with a glove box added, or a combination thereof.

joee..

check the saac registry for history of 30xx car for their records of authenticity and history...or post the serial and several folks will get back to you with what the registry says should you not have a copy. email me off line if ya want and i can relay offline what the 97 registry says for historical info in case you dont want to disclose the serial. . anything since it was last printed (97) would be info privvy to the saac registrar (ned scudder), another source for ya. or , write to ned directly at saac . ned would be the best one for you to contact. the saac website has the address as well as ownership change page to submit for their records update. bill, unreal non original cobra but real spf replica.

3002 had a glove box. The dash was actually the same type used in the 289 street cars.
