Weber Fittings Wanted
I am looking to purchase some original 1950s/1960s vintage Weber carb fuel inlet fittings. I am especially interested in getting four matching ones. There are two styles of interest. The first would have been on circa 1959 46 IDM series down draft carbs or circa 1963-1964 48 IDM series carbs. These early ones were sand castings with a sort of bell shaped banjo. The second style would have been on 1964 48 IDA carbs or 1964 through at least (maybe later) 1970 48 IDA-1 carbs. This style was die cast brass, in a barrel shape banjo.
Any help you might provide will be appreciated. Thanks. |
I have found one 48 IDA style brass banjo fitting. I would like to find three more.

Update: Thanks to a Club Cobra member I now have three of the brass fittings as shown in my 11-24-04 post. I am still looking for a fourth to complete the set.

This address may help you. They are a large Volume Porsche Weber rebuilder.

Thanks Rick. That's one of the first places I checked. The barrel shaped one pictured was common to many of the "big bore" Weber carbs regardless of design. Steel ones seem to be in lots of people's junk drawers. The old brass ones are being difficult to find.

Have you thought of brass plating one of the steel ones?

Thanks. The banjos appear to be the plated steel ones. I still seek on old cast brass one. |

Dan: perhaps you can remove the hose from the fitting? Rick |
Thanks. I'll check it out. I also had somebody send me a tip on another auction with a banjo that might be the right style.

I have exhausted the last round of leads and I am back. I can find plenty of the 1970s something and later plated steel barrel shaped fittings. I still seek one more cast brass fitting as shown earlier in the thread.

Hi Folks,

BRASS BANJO
Hi Dan Case
Try this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...549857543&rd=1 It is a brass banjo for Solex carb but it looks very close to what you are looking for and it is with metric thread (as Weber). Good luck in your prospection and best regards. Bernard |

Thanks. I found somebody with a some late 1950s through mid 1960s Weber parts on hand that had one, IDA and IDA-1 cast brass, he thinks is right. It is on the way now so I will find out this week if it matches my other ones. If it does, that will complete a set. Dan |
Dan
Did you get the other fitting? Lonnie |
Lonnie,
