Pre '66 390 Block Wanted
Looking for a 390 block with a C5 or lower datecode/casting for a Cali customer. Not after a whole engine, just the block.
Thanks |
I have a '64 block with the side bolt casting knobs. It is .040 and should be able to stay at that, it had very few miles on the rebuild. PM me if your interested.

I have a C5AE (1968 casting) 390 block off the 427 production line (66-427 and an X cast in the back). These blocks were very thick walled and have the reinforced crank saddle webs. It is presently std at 4.05" and will clean up at as little as .015" over. I have had it pressure checked and magged. There are no cracks or porosity. I had it sonic checked and it will bore to well over .080" (4.13) and possibly .180" (4.23" or 427 std bore). The walls are thick enough but that would need to be deternmined once the block has been taken out a little to verify the bores are properly aligned.
This block is the best, strongest 390 FE casting avaliable and would only require a PCV valve in California for compliance with state clean air standards. It is presently in Northern California and I will deliver it within 20 miles of 95688 for no charge. .50 cents a mile beyond that. If you need it shipped Greyhound is cheapest. $395 Visa Cheerfully accepted through Paypal, interesting trades considered. |
Thanks for the offers. Looks like we have one at the moment, need to check it out.
