Ca smog check required

In March of 2015 I took my Arntz into the B.A.R. in Rancho Cucamonga Ca I Pre registration process
It passed with flying colors at the BAR
The tag that the B,A.R. tech put on my vehicle says year of vehicle 1965 and year of engine 1969
I noticed my DMV registration says 1984
I just got a Calif smog check required in the mail What should I do?

If you have a California SB-100 sticker on the Cobra,
I wouldn't worry about a smog inspection.
I would go to the DMV to see if you can correct their info.
Bring All the paperwork used when you First registered the car.
SB100, SPCN, Registration and let them know your car should be emission exempt.

Did you get an SB-100 sticker? If not, you will need to do that and that won't be until the day after New Year (at least it used to be). Do a search here about it. If you DO have an SB-100, then yes as said above go to DMV and have them clear it up.

If this is the SPCNS tag, then you'll probably have to start at the DMV. There's a chance they may send you back to BAR, but hopefully, they'll just have one of their DMV inspectors come out and take a look and report back to the clerk, who'll correct the error.

I don't think it's too big of a problem, but will require you to go to the DMV to correct before your registration expires, because I highly doubt your Cobra will pass, even by 1984 emission standards.

Then you should be golden. Should be able to clear it up with DMV, which will still be a PITA I know...

Happened to me a couple of years ago, was no problem. Do as Rich and Bernica said...

I went back to the B.A.R. station today the inspector there gave me the print out where it shows my car is exempt for future smogs. I then went to the DMV everything is cleared up now !!!!! so relieved
