Regarding NJ Registration...
Hello all.
I am having a custom cobra built by Vintage-Motorsports and i'm curious if there is any chance in this universe that i will be able to register it in NJ. I figure i ask here before i go the Montana Route. Any help/insight/advice is greatly appreciated. TIA |
In one post you say it's already titled in PA, now you are saying it is being built? Which is it?
It's all in the details. Bill S. |
apologies for any confusion.
The car is new. being built at Vintage in CT as we speak. Thanks |
the original post was in a PA to NJ thread. my mistake.

HI Will the car have a CT title ? A couple of years ago I purchased a Factory Five from VA and its titled as a 1965 Roadster and I had no problems at all registering in N.J. , Ed

Again, hope you find this helpful. Bill S. PS: NJ is getting hip on the Montana route and will occasionally pull over a specialty car of various makes and models, for exceptionally minor offenses, just to check not only the potentially offending vehicle registration, but the owners D.L. ......I have not experienced this, nor do I personally know anyone who has experienced this, just relaying 3rd party information as a FYI. NJ has gotten smarter over the years, and has even been known to review sites like this one (I have personal knowledge of this item through my interaction with State Street while still living in NJ) for posts just like yours, or mine for that matter. |
Greatly appreciate all of your help.
Reality is I have no issue paying tax on the car. My incentive to use services in another state is solely based on the idea that NJ would put me through hell and/or make it impossible to get done. If it's doable I'm 100% on board in having it registered by the book. Thanks again. |

If he points you back in my direction, advise him I told you nothing has changed since the last time he asked ;) Bill S. |
