Passed CT inspection on first try.
I passed last Friday. Wasn’t really that bad. Either that or I had luck on my side!….just thought I would share……

Congrats!! I'm hoping I can post the same thing in a few months :D
Time for you to enjoy it now. Cheers! Glen |

Congrats. Were you able to get classic plates?

No classic plate

I didn’t get a classic plate but I got it registered as a 1967. It will be taxed as a classic and I’ll get to use my “COBRA” vanity plate.

Cool plate. I’m surprised that ‘Cobra’ wasn’t already taken.
Are you certain it will be taxed as a classic? Quote:

Cool plate
I was lucky about 6 years ago a guy was offering it here on this forum. I guess 2 other guys were “no shows”. He said if I don’t get it he was going to cut it in half and throw it out. I met him at the DMV, registered his car for him and he gave me the plate.
I talked with our tax assessor and they said it would be taxed at a value of $500.😊😊 |
I’m that guy. Still no success in getting classic plates for composite / replica vehicles in CT, even when the vehicle is 20 years old. DMV states no, and haven’t been successful to get clearer legislation passed.
Mine’s titled as a 2004, so will be 20 years old 11 days. Technically, the chassis is a 2003. Car has been taxed out of the state since 2020, after massive assessment / tax increases. Sad that it’s been sitting for so long. Quote:

That’s really cool on the plate.
After Middletown increased my assessment 1500%, I called the assessors. They were rude and said that if I had a problem with it, to appeal it. Appeals declined, then they increased it again the following year. Check out the link in my autosig. I think the Cromwell assessor is on the state assessor council. When I reached out, I got a default response, something like assessments vary town to town. Glad you made it thru, and hopefully your assessors continue to look upon the assessment realistically. The voting with your feet message usually takes a while for the tax and spend style politicians to comprehend, but eventually, even the slipperiest and sleaziest do get the reduced tax revenue message. Even NY and CA, as dim-witted and corrupt as their politicians are, are slowly getting the message. San Francisco’s Mayor recently asked their remaining well-to-do residents (a large portion of the business and middle-class tax base has already moved out) to help with the city’s tax revenue shortfall. I never heard how that finally played out. I suspect, but do not know, that it felt flat after the request was made. |
